CREATING A CYTECH CONNECTION, PART 2

Step 4
You should have completed steps one through three to ensure that all of the necessary network components are installed on your computer. If you have not completed these steps, go to Creating a CyTech Connection.

If you have completed steps one through three, then it is time to create a new dial-up connection. Follow these steps:


1. Double-click My Computer


2. Double-click Dial-Up Networking

3. If this is the first time you have used Dial-Up Networking, the Welcome To Dial-Up Networking Wizard appears. If the wizard does not appear, double-click Make New Connection and follow these instructions for creating a Dial-Up Networking connection.

4. In the first window, you must type the a name for the computer you are dialing. Enter CyTech as shown below then click next.



 5. In the second window, you must type the area code and telephone number. Enter 828 as the area code and the appropriate telephone number. The number for Hendersonville is 698-7550. After entering this information, click next.



6. In the final window, you simply click finish.



7. Once the connection is created, an icon appears in the Dial-Up Networking folder that you can double-click to connect to the Internet. You may wish to create a shortcut to this icon on your Windows desktop.
